‘My brain cost 200 million months …’, What Nitin Gadkari said on the question about the ethanol controversy?
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has dismissed allegations of personal benefit from Ethanol Blend Fuel (E-20 Petrol). These days there is a big discussion about this and the opposition is accusing Gadkari. Responding to this, the Union Minister gave a big statement. He said that his brain is 200 crores per month and can never do its level down for money.
Speaking at the program of Agricultural Welfare Society in Nagpur, Gadkari gave a befitting reply to critics on Saturday (September 13, 2025). The Union Minister said, ‘Do you think I am doing all this for money? But, I know to earn honestly. Our views are for the interest of farmers, not to fill the pockets. I also have a family and a house, I am not a saint.
‘About 10,000 farmers suicides are extremely embarrassing’
Gadkari said that I have always believed that the suicide of about 10,000 farmers in Vidarbha is very embarrassing, till the farmers are prosperous, our efforts will continue. Explain that this statement of the Union Transport Minister has come after the Supreme Court has dismissed a public interest litigation seeking compulsory athanol blend fuel on all petrol pumps on 1 September.
What is the matter?
Petitioner Akshay Malhotra had said through senior advocate Shadan Arggesle that it is not against Ethanol Blend, but about protecting the consumer’s choice and providing them options. The petition said that only the vehicles built after April 2023 are E-20 petrol friendly, while there is a risk for the old model. However, the Supreme Court rejected it.
What do automobile experts have to say?
The government is describing ethanol as a clean and cheap option of petrol. At the same time, automobile experts say that this can affect the capacity of vehicles. Nitin Gadkari termed questions about the loss of vehicles using ethanol blend fuel as a paid campaign inspired by politics.
