Ben Shelton of America continued his best performance and won the third and biggest title of his career as the National Bank Open Tennis Tournament. He defeated Russia’s 11th seed Karen Khachanova 6-7, 6-4, 7-6 in the final. Fourth seeded 22-year-old Shelton became the first player in the US to win 1000 hard-court competition after Andy Rodik in 2003.

At the same time, Shelton won the hard court in Tokyo in 2023 and also on Clay Court in Houston last year. With this victory, Shelton will reach the best sixth position of his career in the world rankings.
