New phase of metro in ghaziabad now every corner will be connected with blue red and pink line

As a major achievement for passengers of the National Capital Region (NCR), the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has proposed to expand the Blue Line Metro to Ghaziabad, which will improve the connectivity between Noida and Ghaziabad. The move is expected to benefit millions of daily passengers and reduce traffic congestion in major areas of the city. DMRC has sought approval to prepare a detailed project report. DMRC has made a formal request for the in -principle approval from the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) for the construction of four new metro stations under the proposed expansion. After receiving approval, the project will build a seamless corridor between Noida and Ghaziabad under the Blue Line.

Major corridors and proposed root expansion

Presently, construction work is going on from Noida Sector 62 to Sahibabad and Mohan Nagar to Vaishali from 2020. According to preliminary proposals, the scheme includes several new corridors on both blue and red lines as well as integration of pink line.

The major expansion are as follows-

Red Line Extension: The 3 km route from New Bus Adda to Ghaziabad railway station, which includes 1 new station.

Blue Line Extension 1: The 5.1 km elevated corridor from Noida Sector 62 to Sahibabad, including 5 stations of Indirapuram, Shakti Khand and Vasundhara Sector 5.

Blue Line Extension 2: The 4 km elevated segment from Vaishali to Mohan Nagar, including 4 stations including Prahlad Garhi and Vasundhara Sector 14.

Pink Line-Red Line Link: The expansion of 12 km from Gokulpuri to Earthla, including 4 km underground and 8 km elevated segments, including 8 stations including Hindon Civil Terminal.

Better airport access and Loni connectivity

A major feature of the proposed expansion is direct metro access to Hindon Civil Airport, which will make air travel more convenient for the residents of Ghaziabad and Noida. Loni from Gokulpuri to Earthla will also come under the metro network, which will reduce congestion near the Delhi border and improve regional connectivity.
