NIA’s major action on terrorist networks: raids on 21 locations across the country, evidence related to ISIS recovered
During the investigation of the case related to terrorist activities, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted a big raid across the country on Monday (September 08, 2025), in which many important revelations were made. The agency searched a total of 21 locations in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Jammu and Kashmir in a conspiracy case related to ISIS and other terrorist organizations. During this time many digital devices and objectionable documents were recovered.
Sources said that many such organizations are active in Pakistan, which have not yet been banned. These organizations are working to trick the youth of India through social media, so that they can be thrown into terrorist activities. In order to throw dust in the eyes of the agencies, these organizations come out of different new names and try to carry out the conspiracy of terror.
ISIS supporter revealed in investigation
During the raid, the NIA detained a 35 -year -old youth from Kurla Circle in Mumbai, Kasaiwada area for questioning. Investigation revealed that he was a close follower of several suspected ISIS supporters social media accounts. The agency investigated his digital and real network and released it after several hours of inquiries. However, investigation of his digital footprint and online interaction is still going on.
The case is originally related to the Chengalpattu district of Tamil Nadu, which was taken up by the NIA in June 2025. It started with the arrest of Akhlathur alias Mohammad Akhalak Mujahid, who is accused of plotting terrorist activities in India.
Relations with Pakistan and Syria Units
NIA investigation revealed that Mujahid was in touch with banned terrorist organizations through social media and had a direct connection with several units in Pakistan and Syria. The purpose of the conspiracy was to raise people and resources to tease jihad against India. The NIA has clarified that this action is part of the investigation of a large terrorist network and there is a possibility of raids and arrests further.
