24 -time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic has won the first round of the US Open. Novak defeated Learner Tien 6–1, 7-6, 6-2 despite foot discomfort.

Djokovic placed his hand on the knee several times in the Dosus set and then he had to take treatment. He made a comeback by winning the next five games after breaking his service in the first game of the third set.

This was Novak’s first match after Wimbledon. The 38 -year -old veteran won the first set in just 24 minutes. But in the second set that lasted for about an hour, he appeared tired. He returned to the third set and won the 75th consecutive match in the first round of Grand Slam.

Emma Radunu, who won the US Open 2021, defeated Japan’s qualifier Ana Snibahra 6–1, 6–2, 6–2, after winning the first win here as a qualifier at the age of 18.
