Maruti Suzuki is working by making six airbags a standard feature in all variants of various models to improve the safety of its vehicles. The latest name in this list is its premium MPV, XL6. This change has become effective immediately and as a result, the price of this model has increased by 0.8 percent. This means that the price will increase from Rs 7,000 to Rs 10,000 on the basis of variants. Thus, now the price of this model starts at Rs 11.92 lakh (ex-showroom).

With this update, XL6 has now joined other models of Nexa and Arena Range, including Ertiga, Baleno, Alto K10, Celerio, WagonR, Eco, Swift, Desire, Brezza, Grand Vitara, Jimny and Invito, which now have six airbags as a standard feature. Prior to XL6, the most recent models receiving this upgrade were Eritiga and Baleno. This initiative is in line with the government’s objective of improving road safety.
Earlier, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MORTH) had announced that by October 2025, six airbags would be installed as standard in all new passenger cars. As a result, all original equipment manufacturers in India (OEM) have begun to implement the necessary changes in their products. Prior to this upgrade, Maruti Suzuki XL6 had four airbags and included EBD with ABS, electronic stability program, seat belt reminder, tire pressure monitoring system, rear window defogger, 360-degree view camera, and other security facilities.

This engine is available with 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox. The option of CNG powertrain is also available in this model.
