Now in just 11 minutes from Howrah to Sealdah … Kolkata Metro will get speed, PM Modi will inaugurate these three lines
Kolkata, a city laying the foundation of metro service in India, is now going to create a new history in terms of metro network. Now every day, about 9.15 lakh passengers will be able to travel from Kolkata Metro and the foundation of this change will be 366 new metro train services of 3 new metro sections, which is ready to give fast and regular service to passengers.
On August 22, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 2.45 km long Esplalen -Siyaladah Metro section on the Green Line of Kolkata Metro, 6.77 km long Noapada -Jai Hind Awn Bandar Metro section on Yellow Line and 4.4 km long Hemant Mukhopadhyay Metro Section on Orange Line. PM will flag off 3 metro trains on all three lines.
So many services on Green, Orange and Yellow Lines
The 366 new metro services will benefit the most of the passengers of the green line, on which the number of services has increased to 186. Also, 60 services on the orange line and 120 services on the Yellow line will make the passengers easier. The new services will increase the greater availability of trains, the time to wait will decrease and there will also be relief from the crowd.
Sealdah (2.45 km) from Green Line Esplanes has brought the biggest relief to Kolkata city. Talking about the moment, it takes 40–45 minutes from the road to reach between two big railway terminals like Howrah and Sealdah. Now this journey from metro will be completed in just 11 minutes.
The distance of the Yellow line covers the distance
The second major achievement is the yellow line, which ranks from Noapada to Jai Hind Airport (6.77 km). Now to reach the airport, those traveling by road will get a new option. Domestic and international passengers, airline staff and airport employees will all experience fast, safe and comfortable journey.
With the interchange facility from Dum Dum Cantonment, direct connection to the entire city and major railway stations will also be easier. This distance from Esplaned to the airport will now be completed in just 30 minutes.
Orange line expansion to these places
The third orange line is, which will be from Hemant Mukhopadhyay to Belleghata (4.4 km). This expansion will connect Science City, big hospitals, schools and commercial centers. The number of passengers is expected to double here. The special thing is that the journey from Belleghata to poet Subhash can also be completed in just 32 minutes. This will make the journey between South Kolkata and Eastern Kolkata very easy.
These new metro lines will give a big benefit not only to Kolkata, but also to the passengers of North 24 Parganas and South 24 Parganas. The distance which took the first hours to cover, now the same journey will be completed in a few minutes.
