Foreign nationals living illegally in India will now be strict. The Ministry of Home Affairs has implemented the rules of immigration and foreigner Act 2025 from 1 September. The ministry has issued its notification. This bill was passed by Parliament in April 2025 this year.

Under this law, Bureau of Immigration has been given comprehensive and constitutional rights. Now he can investigate foreign nationals and can issue an order to direct those who violate the rules directly. For this, he will coordinate with the concerned states.

Create a database of foreign nationals

An important aspect of the law is that the registration of illegal foreign nationals is found in the institutions where it is a hotel, educational institution or other establishments, their registration will be canceled immediately. States have also been instructed to maintain a database of foreign nationals and share regularly with the Bureau of Immigration.

Foreign citizens are doing wrong activity in India

For the last few years, it is feared by the security agencies that many foreign nationals have been carrying out activities for a long time under the guise of visas and passports in India, which can harm the interests of the country. In view of these apprehensions, the government introduced this bill in Parliament.

During the discussion on the bill, the government argued that the Immigration and Forerner Act 2025 will not only strengthen India’s internal security, but will also establish clear monitoring and control over the movement and stop of foreign nationals.
