Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote a letter to the people of the country after the implementation of GST 2.0 on Monday (September 22, 2025). PM Modi appreciated the ‘GST Savings Utsav’ in this letter. At the beginning of his letter, Prime Minister Modi congratulated the people of the country on the beginning of Navratri. He said that my prayer is that this festival brought happiness and prosperity in your life.

PM Modi shared a letter on social media platform X on Monday (September 22). In his letter, he said, ‘My dear countrymen, you and your family wishes a very happy festival Navratri. My prayer is, this festival brought happiness and prosperity in your life. This year we are getting another gift in festivals. With the implementation of the next generation GST reforms from Monday (September 22, 2025), ‘GST Savings Festival’ has started across the country. Farmers, women, youth, poor, middle class, traders, small scale industries, cottage industries, will benefit from these reforms.

He said, ‘The specialty of the new GST reforms is that now only two slabs will remain mainly. Everyday essential items like food, medicines, soaps, toothpastes and many other items will now be tax-free or the lowest slab of 5 percent. It will now be easier to fulfill dreams like building a house, buying car, eating outside or holidaying with family. GST has now been reduced to zero on health insurance.

The country gets freedom from many types of taxes and tolls- PM Modi

PM Modi said, ‘I liked to see that many shopkeepers and traders are telling people by putting boards of’ first and now ‘, telling people how cheap the goods have become. Our GST journey started in 2017. At that time, the country got freedom from many types of taxes and tolls. This brought great relief to customers and traders, traders. Now these next generation GST reforms are taking us further. In this, the system has been made more simplified. This will further increase the convenience of our shopkeepers, small scale industries.

He said, ‘Citizen is our mantra. In the last 11 years, 25 crore people have come out of poverty due to our efforts. A Neo Middle Class has been prepared in the country. Now it is being strengthened. We have also strengthened the middle class. No tax is being charged on income up to Rs 12 lakh. If you see income tax exemption and new GST reforms, then the countrymen will save about 2.5 lakh crore rupees annually.

The country has resolved to develop India till 2047- PM Modi

The Prime Minister said, ‘The country has resolved to develop India till 2047 and to prove it, it is necessary to follow the path of self -sufficiency. The new GST reforms will also get a fast pace to the self -reliant India campaign. For self -reliance, it is necessary that we make Swadeshi a part of our life. Regardless of the brand, whatever the company is, if it is working hard of Indian workers and artisans, then it is indigenous.

He said, ‘Whenever you buy the artisans, workers and industry items of your country, you help in the livelihood of many families and create employment for the youth of the country. I also appeal to my shopkeepers and traders to sell indigenous goods.

PM Modi said, ‘Let’s say proudly, it is indigenous. Your home savings increase, your dreams are fulfilled, you should increase the glow of festivals with things of your choice. This is my wish. Once again, I wish you on Navratri as well as ‘GST Savings Utsav’. Thank you!’
