Perseverance has also set a record of 700 meters of autonomous drive without human intervention. The drive making of this rover on June 19 was part of its mission to collect rock samples on Mars. For the last one and a half months, this rover has been searching for clay rocks on the Krokodillen plateau on the outer slopes of the Jezero Crater Rim. If the minerals called ‘Philosyls’ are found in rock samples, it may mean that there was a large amount of water on this planet.
This rover has discovered clay rocks on the crocodilain plateau that are weak and can break easily. Recently, with the help of China’s Zhurong Rover, scientists had gathered such evidence from which it was found that there was an ocean on Mars billions of years ago. The rover landed about four years ago in the northern low -lying areas of Mars. During this time the data collected during this period was also detected the geological characteristics showing the presence of ancient coastal line there. The rover analyzed a rock at the place called Utopia Planitia to get evidence.
