Prime Minister Narendra Modi reacted strongly in the case of abusing his mother during the Congress-RJD’s voter rights rally in Darbhanga, Bihar on Tuesday (2 September). PM Modi said that he had never imagined that a situation would arise in Bihar with rich tradition, where the honor of the mother would be hurt.

PM Modi said, “Mother is our world, our mother is our rites. Neither I had imagined what happened in Bihar, nor would any citizen of India have thought so.”

He further said that his mother was abused from the RJD-Congress platform in Bihar, which is not only an insult to his mother but an insult to the mothers, sisters and daughters of the whole country. PM Modi said, “These abuses are not only an insult to my mother, but every mother, sister and daughter of India. I know, the pain that is in my heart, the same pain is in the hearts of the people of Bihar. Every mother-daughter honor has hurt.”

The Prime Minister, while making emotional connection with the public, said that in the tradition of Bihar, the honor of the mother is paramount and there is resentment in the whole country to hear such derogatory words. He said that in Indian culture, the mother has been given the same status as a deity and such words are an attack on our civilization and culture.

PM Modi further said, “I know all of you, every mother of Bihar, every daughter of Bihar and every brother of Bihar felt bad. I know that the more trouble I have happened to you. When so many mothers and sisters are with me, then today I am sharing this grief with you, so that I can tolerate it.”

PM Modi said, “Now my mother is not in this world. My mother had nothing to do with politics, yet she was insulted in this way. Every mother raises the family with her dedication and penance. The mother’s place is above the gods and goddesses.” The Prime Minister, emotionally connected to the public and said that every mother and daughter of Bihar are hurt by this incident. He told that he has served the country for the last 50-55 years and has always kept the honor of women paramount.

PM Modi also mentioned schemes for women of Bihar. He said that the government has built crores of toilets and has run plans to make women self -sufficient. Financial assistance will also be given to the mothers and sisters of Bihar under the Jeevika Yojana. PM Modi also gave a clear message on the honor of the mother on the land of Bihar. He said that Bihar is identified with the honor of the mother and here is the importance of worship of Ganga Mayya and Koshi Mayya.
