The country’s largest steel producer Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has supplied steel for INS Ajay and INS disposal of Indian Navy. The company said this in a statement on Monday.
INS ‘Ajay’ was introduced in July last month by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Limited (GRSE) and INS Nistar Kohindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL).
According to the statement, the entire supply company has done the steel for both these ships. With this the company is playing an important role in the country’s defense indigenization efforts, the company said in a statement that SAIL has supplied ‘DMR Grade Steel Plate’ for INS Ajay, which is important for the structural strength and ‘stealth’ abilities of this high-quality steel vessel.

It was said that SAIL is committed to strengthening the naval power of India, which shows the company’s strategic cooperation to the National Defense goals. It also underlines the integral role of the cell in the creation of ‘self -sufficient India’.
