Shashi Tharoor warned about Trump’s ‘sweet’ lyrics, said- ‘Can’t forget about 50 percent tariff or forgive you’

Recently there have been signs of softening in relations between India and America, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump shared the words of mutual praise through social media and press, but Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has advised to take care of this new ‘tone’. He said that 50 percent tariff and derogatory comments made by high officials of America are a matter of serious concern for the Indian public.

Tough stance on 50 percent tariff
Talking to the media in Thiruvananthapuram, Shashi Tharoor clearly said, “We are not in any way to apologize in any way. India has worked with great understanding and maturity on this entire issue.” In fact, on a question asked about the remarks of US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnik, India will soon “apologize and try to compromise with Trump” Tharoor said a sharp reply and said- “I don’t think we do not think we need to apologize. India has acted with great maturity in this whole matter.”

He also said that 50 percent of tariffs imposed by the US have made a serious impact on India. Tharoor also added that the discussion on the trade agreement at this time has stopped and there is a need to think deeply between the two countries.

Needs for caution on new friendship
Tharoor said that Foreign Minister S.K. Jaishankar highlighted the widespread global strategic partnership of Indo-US, which is a positive step, but he also clarified that we should be vigilant about the new tone. He also said that PM Modi’s visit to America is not possible at the moment because Modi is not going to the United Nations meeting.

America also gave signs of strictness
Apart from this, American Treasury Secretary Scott Besant also indicated that more restrictions can be imposed on Russia and its oil buyer countries (including India). He said that this can destroy Russia’s economy completely, so that talks are possible.

Former Indian diplomatic KP Fabian also said that Trump is now beginning to understand that 25 percent of additional tariffs (50 percent in total) imposed on India did not get the expected results. Trump wanted India to bow down, but it did not happen.
