Shashi Tharore: ‘God cannot take birth by a difference of 6 weeks’, what did Shashi Tharoor say about Shri Krishna Janmashtami in Kerala?

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has targeted not celebrating Sri Krishna Janmashtami on Saturday (August 16, 2025) in Kerala. He said in a post on X on Sunday that yesterday, Sri Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated all over India, except the state of Kerala. According to the Malayalam calendar, the date of Janmashtami this year is September 14, 2025 (Sunday), not tomorrow.

He asked the question and said that can anyone tell me why it is so? Certainly God also cannot take birth in 2 different days at an interval of 6 weeks! Is there any justification for rationalizing the dates of religious festivals, so that all the followers of one religion can celebrate at the same time? He further said that the people of Kerala do not celebrate Christmas separately.

The Congress leader earlier spoke to the leaders on diplomacy and politics through Lord Krishna on Shri Krishna Janmashtami in Thiruvananthapuram. The way he explained the leadership of Krishna, it seemed that he was indicating Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in a gesture. Often Tharoor, who speaks in English, spoke in Hindi.

Advice to learn from Lord Krishna

Shashi Tharoor said that Indian leaders can get lessons from the life and teachings of Lord Krishna mentioned in the Shrimadbhav Gita, Mahabharata and Bhagavata Purana? Sri Krishna throws light on aspects of leadership, governance and human nature. Religion is at the top. The life of Shri Krishna is a constant struggle to maintain religion. They repeatedly do such things that may seem unconventional and morally unclear, but their ultimate goal is to restore religion and punish the wicked.
