Should intruders be removed from the voter list or not? Amit Shah targeted Rahul Gandhi over Bihar SIR
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday (August 8, 2025) has accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of doing politics in Bihar about the special intensive revision (SIR) of the voter list. Addressing an election rally in Sitamarhi district of Bihar, Union Home Minister Amit Shah alleged that Rahul Gandhi and other leaders of the opposition are opposing Bihar SIR simply because the intruders are their vote banks.
Shah said, “Whether the names of the intruders should be removed from the state’s voter list before the Bihar assembly elections? The Constitution of India does not give the right to vote to those who are not born in India.”

He said, “Rahul Gandhi should stop his vote bank politics. Special intensive revision (SIR) is not a new process, it was started by your Parana Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and was last done in 2003. Now that you are losing one election after another, you are already preparing the excuse of defeat in Bihar elections.”
