Special AI system for women safety, now identity from face at railway station

There is a preparation to install Artificial Intelligence (AI) based facial identification system to increase the safety of passengers at seven major railway stations including Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and New Delhi railway station. These seven railway stations will implement the AI-managed facial-identified monitoring system, which is part of a comprehensive plan to modern and improve public safety with the help of technology. In addition to increasing security, AI technology can also be used to speed up ticket checking and boarding process, which will relieve passengers from long queues. This new technology will be implemented under the scheme of making railway stations a smart station, which is being emphasized to increase security, monitoring and passenger facilities.

What is facial identification technique?

Facial identification is a biometric technique that analyzes a person’s facial characteristics and identifies it. On entering the railway station, it will scan the structure of the person’s eyes, nose, mouth and facial in digital images or video frames. It will then match it with the information present in the database. The entire process is based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning algorithms. A complete list of railway stations where AI-Inaccurate Facial Identification System will be established.

Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CST)

AI-Interested Facial Recognition (facial identification) system will be installed at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus in Mumbai. Apart from being a UNESCO heritage site, it is also the oldest and busiest railway station in India. Significantly, CST travels more than 30 lakh passengers per day. After the establishment of AI and modern technology, the station will have a powerful tool to identify known criminals.
