This aggressive batsman underwent ‘sports hernia’ surgery in the lower right part of the stomach in Munich, Germany in June.

A BCCI source told news agency PTI, “Fitness test is mandatory before the return to play-RTP after surgery. Suryakumar has passed the fitness test.” After the surgery, Suryakumar posted on Instagram after the surgery, “Sports hernia surgery was done in the lower right side of the stomach. It is a pleasure to say that I am already recovering after the surgery. I am waiting for the return.”

2025 Asia Cup will be played from 9 September
