The army removed the stage of TMC performance, Mamta Banerjee said- ‘I would call me, I in a few minutes …’

The Indian Army has started the work of removing the platform made by the Trinamool Congress near the Gandhi statue in the ground area on Monday (01/09/2025). The platform was built in other states to protest against alleged atrocities on Bangla -speaking migrant workers of West Bengal.

A defense officer said that the Indian Army (local military authority, Kolkata) allows programs for a period of two days in the ground area as directed by the Supreme Court. Permission from the Ministry of Defense has to be obtained for programs of more than three days. Permission for organizing programs was given for two days. However, the stage has been engaged for about a month. The organizers were informed several times to remove the temporary structure, but it was not removed.

It is necessary to remove the stage after demonstrations

He said that after this, Kolkata Police was informed and the stage is being removed by the Indian Army. An officer of the Maidan police station told reporters that the army officials present at the scene said that the stage has to be removed after the demonstrations held at the end of every week. Police officers of the city were present on the spot to maintain law and order.

Mamta Banerjee targeted the government

Now West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee has accused the central government of misuse of the army for removing the forum created in protest against the alleged atrocities on Bangla -speaking migrant workers in BJP ruled states.

Mamta Banerjee, who reached the spot, told reporters, ‘I do not blame the army, but behind it is the politics of vengeance of the Bharatiya Janata Party. BJP’s double engine government is guilty. They are misusing the army, it is immoral and undemocratic.

Army should not play in BJP’s hands

He said that the army should have consulted the Kolkata Police before removing the stage. He said, ‘They could call me and I would have removed the stage in a few minutes. I do not blame the army, just appeal to them not to be neutral and do not play in the hands of the BJP.

Accusing the Center of targeting the Trinamool Congress, party spokesperson Kunal Ghosh said that the Bharatiya Janata Party-Neet government has deployed the army after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
