The threat of snake-hand in dense forest … New challenge in front of Tata Electronics in Assam, now ‘Elephant Proof’ support

Tata electronics: Tata Electronics semiconductor manufacturing unit in Assam is facing many challenges. Tata Electronics is creating its new chip montage facility here. During this time, the company not only has to work on the technical flaws of microchip production, but also to protect its unit from wild animals like snakes, elephants.

According to an Economic Times report, the company is building a giant and strong ‘Elephant Proof’ wall around its outsourced semiconductor assembly and Test (OSAT) plant in Morigaon district to avoid wild animal attacks. One of the most important projects under the Rs 76,000 crore Bharat Semiconductor Mission, this project is also constantly getting support from the Assam State Government to deal with this challenge.

Therefore it is necessary to have an anti-elephant wall

The need for an anti-elephant wall is not limited to prevent the damage caused by machines. Experts told the Economic Times that the theme of concern is the ground vibration of elephants. In the world of manufacturing of semiconductor, dimensions are measured in nanometers, so even a small vibration can be destructive. The report states that the trembling of the ground may cause disturbances in the accurate equipment, causing a mistake in the measurement, the pattern can disturb, the operational mistakes can occur, which can lead to a mistake in the measurement. As a result, chips may deteriorate.

A little lapse may be heavy

A person associated with the semiconductor Indetie said, “Vibration is not a matter of concern for all OSAT plants, but it can pose a threat to ‘fine-picked assembly’.” This is a process in which things should be very accurate. He said, if the Vibration half a micron also moves from here to there, then every pin will shift from here to there. This will deteriorate the alignment and can reduce the productivity of Tata Electronics. To deal with the snake, the company has appointed a team of rescuers, who are catching them and shifting to other safe places. The state government is playing an active role in supporting this project.
