Two important bills related to Manipur passed from Lok Sabha, opposition is constantly making uproar in the House
Two days before the completion of the period of President’s rule in Manipur, both houses of Parliament have been extended for six months and meanwhile, on Thursday (August 7, 2025), passed two important bills associated with Manipur from Lok Sabha on Thursday (August 7, 2025). During which the bills related to Manipur were introduced in the Lok Sabha, during which the opposition was constantly creating a ruckus on the issue of Bihar SIR. Therefore, these bills were passed by the Lok Sabha, the lower house of Parliament amidst the uproar of the opposition without any discussion.
Among the Bills passed by Manipur on Thursday (August 7, 2025) in the Lok Sabha, Manipur Appretion (No. 2) Bill, 2025 (The Manipur Approves (No.2) Bill, 2025) and Manipur GST (Amendment) Bill, 2025 (The Manipur Goods and Services Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2025).
What will be the facility in Manipur from the bills passed in Lok Sabha
The Manipur Accession (No. 2) Bill gives the legal approval to the Government of Manipur to allocate funds for the expenses required for FY 2025-26 under 2025. Due to the implementation of President’s rule, this bill was passed from Parliament instead of the Legislative Assembly.
At the same time, through the Manipur GST (Amendment) Bill, 2025, the GST law of Manipur has been updated as per the recent amendments of the Center. The aim of the bill is to coordinate the tax system in the state with the national structure.
President’s rule is due to long -standing ethnic violence in the state
It is noteworthy that there has been a long -time ethnic violence, stress and administrative chaos in Manipur. President’s rule was imposed in the state last year, which has been extended for more than six months. According to parliamentary proceedings, when President’s rule is implemented in a state, the budget and laws related to that state are passed through Parliament.
