The Indian Wrestling Federation issued a show cause notice on Monday 22 September 2025, Bronze Medal winner of Paris Olympics Aman Sehrawat for not meeting the acceptable weight seam in the World Championship. Aman Men’s freestyle wrestling was one of the strong contenders for the medal in the 57 kg event, but he weighed 1.7 more on the day of the competition. Due to which he was disqualified.

The WFI also expressed displeasure that four coaches were present in Jagreb, but they could not monitor the weight management and in view of this, they were also issued a show cause notice. An official of the Wrestling Federation of India said that this is not acceptable. We have to find out the reasons behind this. In less than two months, our two good wrestlers were disqualified. We have to investigate this, so we have issued a show cause notice to Aman.

The WFI official said that the head coach Jagamandar Singh, Vinod, Virendra and Narendra will also have to give clarification. He said that Aman and the four coaches have been asked to reply by September 27. He said that there were 10 wrestlers and four coaches. They should have focused on this Maddi. They were there 15 days before the competition. This was also their responsibility, so they also have to clarify.
