Bangladesh’s Mashrafe Murtaza is shameful record

Former Bangladesh veteran and captain Mashrafe Murtaza has the unwanted record of being dismissed for the most times in the T20 Asia Cup. Interestingly, Murtaza has returned to the pavilion without opening an account in the same season three times. Mashrafe Murtaza played five matches in the Asia Cup 2016, in which he took five wickets. Even though his performance in bowling was satisfactory, he could not do anything special in batting.

Mashrafe Murtaza landed in five innings to bat and could score only 14 runs with an average of 3.50. During this time, only two fours were seen with his bat. Murtaza was dismissed on Zero in three of the five innings. Since then, this unwanted record is recorded in his name.

The T20 format’s Charaith Asif Ali of Sri Lanka, Asif Ali of Pakistan, Kidhi Shah of Pakistan, Kusal Mendis of Sri Lanka, Kusal Mendis of Sri Lanka, Hardik Pandya of India and Dasun Shanaka of Sri Lanka are joint second in the second place. All these players have been dismissed for zero in T20 Asia Cup twice.

825 teams will take part in 2025 Asia Cup

In the Asia Cup 2025, the Indian team will start their campaign from September 10. Team India will have the first match with UAE, after which a high-voltage match between India and Pakistan is to be played on 14 September. Team India Group Charan’s third match will play against Oman on 19 September. Apart from India, Group-A consists of Pakistan, Oman and UAE teams, while Group-B consists of teams from Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong-China and Afghanistan.
