Why don’t you sit together and solve? On Dogi’s custody, the High Court asked Mahua Moitra and lawyer Jai

The Delhi High Court on Wednesday (September 3, 2025) questioned Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra and advocate Jai Anant Dehdrai about the custody of pet dog Henry. The High Court questioned both of them why both of them cannot sit together and resolve the ongoing controversy over their pet dog custody. At the same time, this dispute has reached allegations of parliamentary irregularity and corruption against MP Mahua Moitra.

Justice Jain of the High Court said about this controversy, ‘Why don’t you both sit and solve it? What relief does she (Mahua Moitra) want in this petition? ‘ In fact, TMC MP Mahua Moitra has approached the court, demanding a sharing custody of his pet Rotviler dog named Henry.

The relationship between Moitra and Dehdrai has not been good since the relationship is over

Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra and Supreme Court lawyer Jai Anant Dehdrai were in a relationship at one time, but the relationship between the two is not good since separation. Since 2023, both of them are accusing each other of stealing Henry and are also fighting a legal battle for him.

Where, Mahua Moitra says that Henry belongs to him and he has demanded a shared custody of the dog. On the other hand, advocate Jai Anant Dehdrai has challenged the order of the trial court in which he was prevented from making the dog’s custody dispute public with Mahua Moitra.

Dehdrai objected to the order of the trial court

Advocate Sanjay Ghosh, who appeared on behalf of Dehdrai, said that he objected to this order of the trial court, as it stopped both sides from talking publicly on the matter. He said that this order, which was passed on the petition of Mahua Moitra, violates his freedom of expression.

He also said that he had earlier posted a post on the X platform, in which there was no details about the case, but still it was called a violation of the court order. He raised the question, ‘A case of waste has been registered against me and I cannot talk about it, cannot discuss, cannot even write? Where is this necessary for a fair hearing? If he is an MP, can an MP claim more rights than a normal plaintiff? ‘ At the same time, the High Court on Wednesday (September 3, 2025) sought a reply from the Trinamool MP in this case and the next hearing was fixed in December.
