Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has made a big statement in the case of singer Zubin Garg on Monday (September 22, 2025). The Chief Minister said that the second post -mortem of singer Zubin Garg’s body will be done tomorrow (September 23, 2025) in Guwahati Medical College and Hospital.

Earlier, Zubin’s first post -mortem was done in Singapore, where he died on Friday (September 19, 2025). The Assam government has said that the last rites of Zubin Garg will be performed on Tuesday (September 23, 2025) on the outskirts of Guwahati with full state honors.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that after the second post -mortem, Garg’s body will be taken to the crematorium at 9:30 am. The Chief Minister told reporters, the Chief Minister, “This (second post -mortem) is not the demand of the public but some chaotic elements and we have decided to do it with the consent of his (Garg) wife.”

He said, ‘We do not want to create any controversy about Zubin, so this decision was taken. He is not privately on this side that his (Garg’s) body has to go through the process of post -mortem again, but when a class, even if he demands in a minority, does not matter if he demands it. This is democracy.

I don’t think another post mortem was needed- Himant

The Chief Minister said, ‘After post -mortem on behalf of the doctors of Singapore, I do not think another postmortem was needed, because they have more technical expertise. But no class should have any scope to do any kind of politics about Jubin. A team of doctors of Guwahati Medical College and Hospital and AIIMS will do postmortem.

He said, ‘(in post mortem) will take about two hours in the morning, so his (Garg’s) last time will start at 9.30 am instead of 7.30 am.’
