Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju has given a statement about a new income tax bill on Saturday (August 9, 2025). The Union Minister said that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present a new income tax bill in the Lok Sabha on Monday (August 11, 2025). This bill is being introduced in the Lok Sabha following the suggestion of the Parliamentary Selection Committee. The statement of Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju came on Friday (August 8, 2025) amid the apprehensions arising on the withdrawal of Income Tax Bill from the Lok Sabha.
The number of amendments in the first bill, so took back- Rijiju
Union Minister Rijiju said, “It has been assumed that a completely new bill will be introduced, in which the earlier bill will be completely ignored. A lot of work has been done on that bill and now with the introduction of this new bill, all the work and time done on it will go in vain.”
Rijiju clarified that the speculation that is being made is absolutely baseless, because the new bill will be introduced in the Lok Sabha on Monday (August 11), it will be suggested by the Parliamentary Selection Committee and all the changes accepted by the central government will be included. He said, “This is a general parliamentary process when the number of amendments made in any bill already introduced in the Lok Sabha is quite high.”
The Parliamentary Selection Committee gave 285 suggestions in the bill- Rijiju
The Parliamentary Selection Committee of the Lok Sabha headed by BJP MP Baijayant Panda gave 285 suggestions in the Income Tax Bill, which the government accepted.
Rijiju said, “There was a need to bring a new income tax bill because it would be a long and difficult process to present each amendment separately and pass from the House. In this case, it is a general parliamentary process that when the selection committee gives its report and a lot of amendments are suggested in it and the government accepts them, then the earlier bill is withdrawn and a new bill is presented, so that it is introduced to the Parliament, so that it is presented. I can be easy. “
