The Congress on Sunday (August 31, 2025) claimed that it gave 89 lakh complaints to the Election Commission under special intensive revision (SIR) of voter lists, but the complaints of booth level agents (BLA) related to the party were not accepted.
Pawan Kheda, head of the party’s media department, also said that to rectify the mistakes, ‘Door to door’ verification is needed again. He said that the data given by the Congress should be investigated by the Commission.
Election Commission is reporting the plant
Kheda told reporters a day before the conclusion of the ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ here, ‘The Election Commission keeps the news through its source that no complaint is coming from any political party.’ He claimed that the truth is that the Congress party has given 89 lakh complaints to the Election Commission, but the complaints of the party’s BLA were not taken.
He said, ‘When our BLA takes a complaint, complaints are not taken from them. They are told that we will take complaints from the affected people. Kheda questioned what is the role of political parties and BLA in such a situation?
65 million votes cut in Bihar
Kheda said, ‘Tomorrow is September 1, the Election Commission is the last date to register complaints under SAIR. In such a situation, our BLA has left no stone unturned to register the applications of the citizens of Bihar. The Congress leader said, ’65 lakh votes were cut at a total of 90,540 booths in Bihar. The Election Commission has given four reasons to cut the name.
According to Kheda, due to migration, 25 lakh names were deducted, 22 lakh names of the dead, 9,70,000 names were deducted due to absence at the address, 7 lakh names were cut due to being registered elsewhere in the east. He said that the number of booths to be deducted more than 100 names is 20368 and the number of booths to be cut more than 200 is 1988.
75 percent names put in dead category
Kheda said, ‘There are 7,613 booths where more than 70 percent of women have been named. There are 635 booths where more than 75 percent of the names are cut in the migrant category. 75 percent of the names have been cut in the dead category at 7,931 booths.
He said that it is very important to check all these figures again, because people’s names have been cut under such a pattern on such a large scale. The Congress leader said, ‘There are millions of cases in which two epic numbers have been given to the same voter. We also have their receipts, now this thing cannot be denied.
‘Door to door’ verification to rectify mistakes
Kheda said, ‘We hope that the figures we have given, the Election Commission should get them verified again, get them investigated.’ He said that to rectify these mistakes, there is a very serious need for ‘door to door’ verification again.
