Indian Grandmaster Vaishali Rameshbabu won the FID Grand Swiss tournament on Monday by playing her last game draw against former women’s world champion Tan Jhongi. This is the first time a player has won this tournament twice. With this victory, Vaishali has confirmed his place in the candidate tournaments. She has now become the third Indian woman player to qualify for candidates after Koneru Hampi and Divya Deshmukh.

Apart from this, Indian star player Arjun Arigasi played his last game draw with Vincent Cammer in the open section. Due to this draw, he missed out on making a place in the candidates. In this section, Anish Giri and German Grandmaster Mathias Blueam qualified for candidates.
