Former India and Netherlands trainer Paul Van Ace was the coach of UP Rudras.

Seven teams will remain in the men’s tournament until a replacement team or new owner is found after the removal of UP Rudras. Hockey India general secretary Bhola Nath Singh has said that he hopes that a solution will come out before the season starts.

At the same time, sources of Indian Express have been quoted as saying that Rudras management postponed it after not getting clarity on the league financial estimates from Hockey India.
