Delhi: Cyber thugs run by fake recruitment company arrested, more than 85 cases registered

The cyber cell of Delhi Police has revealed a fake power recruitment company under a large high profile operation. In this case, the police have arrested the vicious criminal Munir Khan alias Sahil Sharma. This gang of Munir and his associates used to operate from Gurugram’s Spage IT Park. Cases related to more than 85 cyber crimes are registered across the country.

Open cheating from mobile theft

According to the police, the case started with a complaint registered on 22 May. It was told in the complaint that the iPhone of a person was stolen, which was linked to his bank account. Later, when the victim took a duplicate SIM on 26 May, he received 9 suspected SMS alerts of UPI Transaction. In total, 3 lakh 98 thousand rupees had been cheated.

Investigation revealed that out of this amount, Rs 1 lakh was transferred to an account in Telangana, which later went to the account of Meraki Manpower Service Private Limited. This company was exposed to fake power recruitment.

Gurugram was a gang base

Delhi Police raided the Spage IT Park of Gurugram and arrested Munir Khan. Muni has been in jail for 4 and a half years in a rape case earlier too. Munir, along with his colleagues Shubham, Mukim and Munjir, formed this company, who used to cheat crores by pretending to get people to get jobs.

This fraud network spread across the country

Police said that accounts related to Meraki Company were used in many cyber crimes. Lakhs of rupees were cheated from these accounts and an attempt was made to make the money of cheating in many bank accounts valid. At present, the police is also conducting raids to catch the remaining members of this gang.
