A few days after Donald Trump increased tax on Indian things, the relationship between Beijing and New Delhi has started getting stronger again. China’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Lynn Jiyan on Thursday expressed a desire to increase close cooperation with India and strengthen political confidence.
China’s statement
Lynn Jiyan said that China is committed to resolve differences with India properly and to increase cooperation on multilateral forums such as Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). He emphasized the need to look at China-India relations from a comprehensive point of view and promote strategic cooperation.
India’s initiative
India’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal said that India is actively associated with China to resume border trade. The trade was closed for five years after the Galwan Valley dispute in 2020. India and China are working on starting trade through special trade routes-Lipulekh pass (Uttarakhand), Shipki La Pass (Himachal Pradesh), and Nathu La Pass (Sikkim).
High level meeting
The next week, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will visit India. He will discuss border disputes with India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. This meeting will be the first high -level diplomatic meeting after the Galwan struggle and will play an important role in bilateral relations.
Air connectivity and connectivity
Direct air services between India and China were closed from the beginning of Kovid-19. Now Indian airlines have been instructed to be ready to resume operations. This will restore connectivity between the two countries and will strengthen economic and diplomatic relations.
