Successful testing of India of Integrated Air Defense Weapons (IADWS), especially a Chinese military expert of high -power laser -based laser weapons (DEW) praised and said that it should be considered a significant progress.
The IADWS is a multi -level air defense system, including a quick -reacted indigenous surface -to -air missiles (QRSAM), a very short distance air defense system (VSHORADS) missiles and a high -power laser -based laser -based target energy weapon (DEW) system.
India’s indigenous IEDWS system
The indigenous air defense system was tested in the Odisha offshore region on Saturday (August 23, 2025). IADWS, especially DEW, has attracted the attention of Chinese experts. Some countries like America, Russia, China, Britain, Germany and Israel have such a system.
Wang Yanan, the chief editor -in -chief of the Beijing -based aerospace knowledge magazine, told the Chinese government newspaper Global Times that the Indian IADWS is an air defense system designed to destroy low and middle height goals such as drones, cruise missiles, helicopters and low -height planes.
Laser system really significant progress
Wang said, “Out of the three levels of IAWS, vehicle-based air defense missile QRSAM and single individual air defense system VSHORADS are not technically new, but the laser system must be considered a significant progress.” Wang said that there are only a few countries in the world, which have deployed laser systems ready for war.
