A passenger was taken into custody on Monday (September 22, 2025) in a flight going from Bangalore to Varanasi by Air India Express. Actually, the passenger was trying to open the door of the flight’s cockpit. On knowing about which he was taken into custody.

An official informed in this regard that when the passenger traveling in flight IX 1086 of the Air India Express was caught on the cabin crew, he told him that he was looking for a toilet and after that he returned to his seat at the behest of the crew.

According to the official, the passenger was traveling on a flight with other eight people. After the aircraft reached Varanasi, the passenger was handed over to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).

After taking the passenger into custody, a CISF official said that the passenger accidentally pressed the security code of the cocpt’s door, which immediately gave the flight cabin crew an alert. The pilot also immediately reported the incident to the Air Traffic Control (ATC).

The official said, ‘The passenger stated the lack of information about this whole incident and said that he was traveling from the plane for the first time and he was not aware of it. Because he was traveling with a group of nine people, the CISF questioned all nine passengers after reaching Varanasi and also informed the local police.

Air India Express issued a statement about the incident

The Air India Express issued an official statement regarding this entire incident. The airline said that no compromise was made on the safety of aircraft and passengers. A spokesman for the Air India Express said, ‘We know about the reports that a passenger in Varanasi had reached the Cockpit’s entry, finding a toilet. We repeat the fact that we have strong security and safety protocols and there is no compromise in it. After the landing of the aircraft, the information of this case was given to all the concerned authorities and the matter is currently being investigated.
