South Korean woman Hyang Lee, who has been running a restaurant for 14 years at the Global Fire Mall on Golf Course Road, Gurugram, has made serious allegations against the mall management. He says that despite paying rent and maintenance fee, the mall management repeatedly cuts the electricity and water supply of their restaurant ‘MISO’.
Hyang Lee released a video on social media on Friday and told her objections, after which the Gurugram police intervened in the case.
What was the root of the dispute?
Hyang Lee lodged a complaint at Sushant Lok police station on Thursday and also wrote a letter to South Korean Embassy. PTI alleged that the mall management has been harassing him for 3 years and is illegally stopping facilities to vacate the restaurant.
In his video released on social media, Hyang Lee said, “I have been legally running my restaurant following all Indian laws and licenses for 14 years. For the last three years, the mall management and builders have been harassing me by closing the essential services illegally. If no action was taken, I will be forced to return to my country with a bitter experience.”
Police gave this information
According to the police, the matter is mainly of civil dispute, but an attempt is being made to mediate between the two sides. On Friday, both sides met at the police station, in which it became clear that Hyang Lee has been running a restaurant in the mall for 14 years. The mall management had issued a notice of Rs 9 lakh, accusing them of damaging the building from water leakage. Lee did not give this amount, due to which electrical controversy arose.
Further hearing
The problem of electricity and water has been solved in the last meeting. A dispute of Rs 9 lakh will be held on Monday (August 11) in the presence of legal teams of both sides. Police say that an attempt will be made to settle the case through talks.
