Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday (September 16, 2025) inaugurated the second national conference of the heads of the states and union territories of the Anti-Narcotics Task Force in New Delhi. This conference was attended by representatives of investigative agencies from all over the country.

In the presence of Amit Shah, more than 4000 kg of drugs were destroyed in different parts of the country today. This action was taken with the coordination of Narcotics Control Bureau and police of different states of the country. In the next 15 days, 1 lakh kg of drugs will be destroyed across the country. During this, Amit Shah said in his address that from 2019, he started fighting the institutional fight against drugs.

Prime Minister’s resolution of drug -free India

The Union Home Minister said that the Prime Minister’s resolve of drug -free India can be successful only when it is not only NCB and Home Ministry but all the state governments and their departments. If you want to create a developed India, it is very important to save the younger generation from drugs. If only the foundation of the country becomes hollow, then the country will be removed from the path of development.

He said that in this 6-7 year campaign, we have crossed all the stages from planning to the future. Now the time has come to change the scale in action and execution. Cartel at all entry points of the country, cartel bringing inside the country from entry point and cartel bringing from inside to paan shop, now these three cartel will have to take strict action.

Drug -free India campaign released in 372 districts

Amit Shah said that the drug -free India campaign is going on in 372 districts. This is not enough. It should be run in every district and we should have access to every educational institution. He said that exile and extradition of the fugitives is very important. Now the time has come, it is necessary to extradite the people who sending drugs in the country. In his address, he said that all the people should talk with the CBI and work with the extradition of such people. Also pay attention to the trend of synthetic drugs. There should be work to destroy them too. Their labs also have to be eliminated. Today, we have worked to destroy more than 4800 crores drugs. It is also necessary to destroy the seized drugs lying with the police.

We will continuously help states- Union Home Minister

The Union Home Minister said that we will continuously help the states. Financial trails, hawala links, crypto links etc. need to be caught. All people and agencies will have to work together to bring foreign fugitives in drug trafficking and for exile from here. The role of anti -narcotics task force in this is going to be very prominent. He said that in the last ten years, drugs of more than one crore kg have been caught, whereas before 2005 to 2014 it was 26 lakh kg. If we do not win a fight against drugs in the next ten years, then we will lose this fight against drug addiction. Instead of making a small case, the entire drug cartel will have to destroy the anti -narcotics task force.
