Humayun’s mausoleum collapsed walls, is UNESCO World Heritage safe? ASI told

The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) made it clear on Friday (August 14) that Humayun’s tomb, which was included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site, is in ‘completely fine position’. ASE clearly stated that the incident of collapse of the building in South Delhi is not related to this monument.

At the same time, ASI regretted the unfortunate accident in the ‘an unsafe structure’ adjacent to this 16th century monument.

AIIMS was taken to the injured
Police said 5 to 6 people died on Friday evening when a dargah wall collapsed near Humayun’s tomb in Nizamuddin area of Delhi. At the same time, four others were injured. The injured were sent to the Trauma Center at Akhil Indian Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and one was taken to LNJP Hospital.

The claim of the tomb was damaged
Initial reports claimed that the mausoleum had ‘a part of a dome collapsed’. ASI wrote in a post on ‘X’, “We express deep condolences on the unfortunate incident at Patte Shah Dargah located in Nizamuddin area of Delhi. Archaeological Survey of India can reach to help people trapped in the accident due to the proximity of the incident. ‘

Memorial in fine position- ASI
The ASI said in the post that Humayun’s tomb is in a perfect position and this news is not related to this monument. According to the UNESCO website, Humayun’s tomb is located in a premises of 27.04 hectares, with other contemporary structures.

Dargah was a wall of Sharif leaves
In fact, on Friday, the 50 -year -old wall and roof of the Dargah Sharif leaves fell under heavy rains in Delhi. A total of 6 people, including three women, died after being buried under the debris. On Friday afternoon, at 3.55, the Nizamuddin police was informed that a major accident took place here, after which rescue and relief work was started.
