In the Bihar SIR final list, the place whose claims will be filed by September 1, the Election Commission said to consider the remaining applications after 30 September

Bihar Sir Only those people will be able to get a place in the final list of whose claims will be filed by 1 September. Supreme Court Sir The time limit for filing claims/objections regarding the draft list has been refused. However, the court has taken a record of the Election Commission’s statement that even after the publication of the final list, eligible people will not be prevented from joining the voter list.

Senior advocate Rakesh Dwivedi, appearing for the Election Commission, said that the work of special intensive revision is going on smoothly. The fears of political parties about this are baseless. Sir But extending the deadline for filing claims/objection will affect the publication of the final list, which is to be held on 30 September.

Rakesh Dwivedi said that people get a place in the voter list till the last date of filing election nomination in a constituency. This system is also applicable in Bihar, therefore, it is not that the application received after September 1 will be rejected. Such an application will also be considered, but after the publication of the final list. If any claim is correct, then it will be included in the voter list before the election.

The bench of Justice Surya Kant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi rejected the demand to increase the claim/objection to the Election Commission by 15 September. The court asked the rest of the parties including the Rashtriya Janata Dal who filed the petition to help the people on the land. The court said that despite its previous instructions, political parties filed only 100-120 applications to get the names of the missing voters.

The Election Commission said that political parties have given more applications for cutting the name instead of adding names. This is a sign that the qualified voters are not in charge of excluding the voter list. At the end of the hearing, the court asked the chairman of the Bihar Legal Service Authority to direct Para Legal Volunteers (Volunteers providing legal aid) of every district to help the voters. Their claims should be admitted online.

During the hearing, the court made it clear that Aadhaar is a document of identity, so it also asked to accept Aadhaar as a document for the people left in the draft list, but in the Aadhaar Act it is not considered a proof of citizenship. The next hearing of the case will be held on 8 September.
