Ind vs Pak: Suryakumar and Salman did not join hands during the Asia Cup 2025 match toss

Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav and Pakistan’s Salman Aga did not join hands during the toss of Asia Cup Group A match on Sunday. Usually, shaking hands between the captains of the two teams under the sportsmanship while bouncing the coin before matches in international cricket is a tradition, but there is no rule.

The captains of both India and Pakistan teams did not join hands and both did not even look at each other. The two captains handed over their team’s sheet to Zimbabwe’s match referee Andy Picroft, spoke to TV commentator Ravi Shastri, who was bouncing coin and returned to his directions.

“Every tournament has its own rules and rules,” a BCCI source told PTI on condition of confidentiality. There are also some tournaments in which it is necessary to join hands during the toss under the protocol. For the record, Suryakumar Yadav did not join hands with UAE captain Mohammad Wasim during the last match toss. ,

This is the first time after the terrorist attacks in Pahalgam in April this year when arch-rivals Pakistan and India came face to face in a cricket match. Last month, India announced a new sports policy under which its teams and players will not be allowed to participate in bilateral competitions with Pakistan but they can play each other in multilateral international tournaments.

This policy also banned Indian players from visiting Pakistan and refused to host neighboring teams and individual players. Prior to this match, the Indian camp had said that the players are focused on the game and they are aware of the feelings and sensations of the people but they have left them behind to play this match professionally.
