Jammu-Kashmir: CM Omar Abdullah arrived to inspect floods in Kishtwar, briefing from army and administration

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah reached Chasoti village in Kishtwar district. He reviewed the damage caused by the floods and assessed the situation of relief work. During this time, the Chief Minister also took briefing from the Indian Army personnel and with the help of virtual reality headset, he made virtual tour of the affected areas.

Review of relief work in affected villages

Omar Abdullah, who arrived in Chasoti village, first held a meeting with the local administration and security forces. During this, he inquired about the search and rescue operations being carried out in flood affected areas from NDRF, SDRF, police and Indian Army teams.

The Chief Minister instructed the officials to immediately reach the affected families and shift them to safe places.

Review from virtual reality headset

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah used the virtual reality headset using digital review of the flood affected area. This made them easier to understand where the most damage has been done and in which areas there is a need to speed up relief work. Officials said that the picture of the loss is immediately revealed by this technology and the relief work can be planned fast.

Indian Army, NDRF, SDRF and police are engaged day and night in relief and rescue work after floods in Kishtwar district. He took people trapped in the floods to safe places and started supply of basic needs. Local administration is also providing temporary shelter, food and drink items and necessary medicines to the affected families.

People from flood affected areas were satisfied with the work of administration and security forces. Many people were talking about their troubles and needs of relief material in front of Omar Abdullah’s team. The Chief Minister directed all the officials to give priority to the needs of the local people and they should be relieved as soon as possible.

Omar Abdullah said that in natural disaster like flood, it is most important to provide proper help on time. He praised the administration and security forces and appealed to the public to cooperate in relief work and stay in safe places.
