Lavalina Borgohen considered retiring from boxing to focus on her academy, but postponed the decision after missing a medal at the Paris Olympic Games. The Assam boxer is set to return internationally from the upcoming World Championships and his goal is to win the second medal in the Olympics.
Tokyo Olympic bronze medalist Lavlina has been away from international competitions since the Paris Olympic Games in August last year. While staying away from the ring, he focused on establishing his academy, which was inaugurated in Guwahati in June.

In the French capital, 27 -year -old Lavlina had reached very close to winning the second consecutive Olympic medal, but the woman lost to the Middleweight (75kg) class quarter -finals to China’s champion Lee Qian. Lovlina was asked if the Olympic game to be held in 2028 could be her last tournament, she said, “Yes, it is possible. I could also win a gold medal at the Paris Olympics, as I had defeated all the players reaching the podium earlier. Which reveals the level of my game. I can win the Olympic medal. ”

He said, “I am going to compete internationally after a long break. I have got only one month’s time for preparation, so I am also working on my stamina and strength.
