Mandi: Union Minister Ajay Tamta visited disaster affected areas with Jairam Thakur, gave these instructions
Union Minister of State for Transport and Road Ajay Tamta visited disaster affected areas in Saraj assembly constituency of district Mandi on Sunday (14 September). During this time, former Chief Minister and Leader of Himachal, Opposition, Jairam Thakur was also present together. Apart from this, all the senior officials and technical experts of the National Highway Authority were also with them. He also instructed the officials concerned to work according to the complaints and demands of the people. A target has been set to restore the National Highway by 20 September.
He also visited Saraj’s Balichowki and tested the Khastaharat closely instead of National Highway 305 here and instructed the State Public Works Department to repair this NH with immediate effect. The minister also visited Mani village and asked to send the estimate here to restore the Major District Road Thachi soon and to make Valli Bridge here immediately.
Due to the bad roads, apple farmers’ huge losses
Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur showed the loss everywhere and thanked Union Minister of State Ajay Tamta on his arrival here, saying that his visit will speed up restoration work. Due to the bad roads here, apple gardeners and farmers are losing crores in Kullu, Manali and Mandi.
The destruction of nature caused excessive damage-Ajay Tamta
Talking to the media, Ajay Tamta said about the horrors of the disaster, “This disaster in Himachal Pradesh is very painful. Many people have lost their lives and property worth thousands of crores has been damaged. Former Chief Minister and Leader of Himachal Pradesh visited Siraj assembly constituency along with opposition Jairam Thakur. He briefed me about the damage done at all places. There has been a lot of damage here due to the devastation of nature. Whether it is a government infrastructure, whether people have private property, all have been damaged on a large scale.
PM gave financial assistance of 1.5 thousand crores- Tamta
The Union Minister further said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself has visited the disaster affected area and has given financial assistance of one and a half thousand crore rupees to ensure that people can get immediate effective relief. Along with this, advance funds of more than Rs 200 crore of NDRF and SDRF have also been given to Himachal Pradesh separately tomorrow.
‘Every possible effort to provide relief to the affected people’
He thanked the Central Government, Prime Minister, BJP and said, “Everyone has got full support for the disaster -prone state. According to the instructions of the Prime Minister, seven Union ministers are also taking stock of the loss in the disaster affected areas of Himachal Pradesh and are also sharing the grief of the people. All the ministers inspecting the disaster are making every effort to provide relief to the affected people.
