‘Modi-Modi’s slogans are not foreign policy’, what did Trump change in H-1B visa, then Mallikarjun Kharge will?

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has directly attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He raised questions about the current relations with the US and alleged that Indians are suffering heavy losses due to the Modi government’s foreign policy. Kharge wrote on X (East Twitter) that the return gift given to the Prime Minister on his birthday has disappointed the Indians.

Kharge said that the Trump administration has imposed an annual fee of $ 100,000 on the H-1B visa, causing the most impact on Indian IT professionals. About 70% H-1B visa holders are Indians. Apart from this, 50% tariff has already been implemented. India is estimated to lose ₹ 2.17 lakh crore in just 10 areas.

Hire Act and Chabahar port

The Congress President said that the Hire Act targeting Indian outsourcing companies has also been implemented. At the same time, exemption at Chabahar port of Iran has been removed, which will affect India’s strategic interests. Along with this, there has also been a demand from the European Union to impose 100% tariff on Indian goods.

Trump’s statement and claim of Indo-Pak war

Kharge also said that Trump has claimed several times that his intervention averted Indo-Pak war. The Congress President described it as harmful to the image of India.

Question on foreign policy

Kharge said that Indian national interests should always be paramount. He called the Modi government’s foreign policy only “showy demonstrations” and said that it is not a foreign policy to raise slogans of “Modi-Modi” in hollow slogans and programs. According to him, the purpose of foreign policy should be to protect India’s interests and increase friendship in a balanced manner. Otherwise, India’s long -term reputation can be damaged.
