More than one lakh votes were manipulated to change the rules … Rahul Gandhi accused these 5 disturbances on EC

Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi made a press conference on Thursday (August 7, 2025) and made serious allegations against the Election Commission. He said that the Election Commission along with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is rigging elections and weakening democracy.

Rahul Gandhi said, “The foundation of our Constitution rests on the principle of one person, one vote. So when elections are held, the most important question is whether the right people are getting permission to vote? Is fake names being added to the voter list? Is the voter list accurate?

He said that doubt has been increasing among people for some time. He counted five main points and said that BJP never has to face anti-incumbency (anti-incumbency). The BJP gets unexpected and big victory. Opinion polls and exit polls are proved wrong again and again. The atmosphere prepared by the media and choreographing the election schedule thoughtfully is also included in these five points.

More than five years of new voters added in five months

Rahul Gandhi said, “In the Maharashtra and Haryana assembly elections, he started seeing the real picture behind these doubts. In Maharashtra, the new voters which were added in just 5 months were not added in the last five years. The number of voters added in many areas were more than the entire population of those areas. There was a sudden tremendous bounce in voting after five o’clock, but there were no lines on the polling stations.

Election Commission refused to give machine reduced voter list- Rahul Gandhi

The Leader of Opposition also alleged that the Election Commission refused to give the machine-readable voter list. If we had a soft copy, we could have analyzed the entire data in 30 seconds. But we found seven-foot long bundles of paper, which took six months to read and mix. A team of 30-40 people worked day and night for only one assembly seat.

No one could investigate, so all rules changed- Rahul Gandhi

He raised questions that the Election Commission deliberately gives such data, which cannot be read by scanning. The Commission changed the rules to reach CCTV footage. Along with this, the Election Commission refuses to give digital data. All this is being done so that no one can investigate.

More than 1 lakh votes were rigged in Mahadevpura assembly seat in Karnataka- Rahul Gandhi

Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi said that 1,00,250 votes were rigged in Mahadevpura assembly seat in Karnataka. He mentioned five types of disturbances, including duplicate voters, fake and invalid addresses, many voters, invalid photos and misuse of Form-6 on a address.

He said, “The public has full right to transparency and no record related to elections should be destroyed. The Congress team has understood the entire system and will bring the truth to the public.”
