The Revenue Intelligence Department (DRI) has seized 12.04 crore Pakistani goods under Operation Deep Manifest. This action was taken regarding illegal Pakistani goods coming through a third country. The Union Finance Ministry gave this information in Parliament on Monday (August 11, 2025).
While giving a written reply to the questions asked by the BJP MPs, Minister of State for Finance, Pankaj Chaudhary said, “A total of 5 cases related to Pakistani goods have been registered till July 2025 under Operation Deep Manifest, in which goods worth Rs 1,204 lakh have been seized.”
Ban ban on Pahalgam terrorist attack
He said that in all 5 cases, goods were being imported into India through intelligence through the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Operation DRI was introduced after a comprehensive ban on import of Pakistani goods since the Pahalgam terror attack, so that illegal imports of Pakistani goods would be stopped.
Pankaj Chaudhary further said, ‘Customs officials have also detected 13 cases of illegal imports of Rs 12 lakh. In these cases, import rules have been found to be violated, including restrictions imposed by DGFT.
Investigation revealed, imports will be done through this route
Earlier on 26 June, 39 containers carrying 1,115 metric tonnes of goods worth 9 crore were reported to be confiscated and a man from the importing company was arrested. Investigation revealed that the goods were first taken on a ship in a container from Pakistan to Dubai.
From there, he was loaded in ships with other containers going to India. The investigation also revealed that the movement of goods from Karachi port, Pakistan and carriage of goods through Indian ports at Jabel Ali port in Dubai.
