Pending railway projects in Telangana will get speed, CM Revanth Reddy assurances to cooperation to Center

Telangana Chief Minister A.K. Revanth Reddy has assured full cooperation from the government to complete the pending railway projects in the state rapidly. He said that the state government is fully ready for the necessary funds and land acquisition. The Chief Minister chaired a review meeting on Thursday (September 11, 2025) with officials of South Central Railway and top officials of various departments at the Command Control Center.

In the meeting, the Chief Minister stressed that the scheme of railway projects should be made in such a way that they can meet the needs of the future, which reduces both distance and cost. He said that new rail lines should not only provide fast passenger transport, but also contribute to the overall development of those areas, especially keeping in mind the requirements of tourist centers and industrial areas.

Special discussion on new projects

He emphasized the need to modernize rail, road and port connectivity on the lines of abroad. South Central Railway General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava attended the meeting and the Chief Minister welcomed him and held special discussion on new projects.

The meeting was attended by MP Kadem Kavya, Chief Minister’s Advisor V.M. Narendra Reddy, Chief Secretary Ram Krishna Rao, Special Secretary of R&B, Vikas Raj, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Srinivas Raju and Finance Secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania and many senior officials were present.

Emphasis on regional ring rail project

The Chief Minister said that a railway line should be set up with a greenfield highway from ‘Bharat Future City’ to Amravati via Bandar Port. He said that under the State Reorganization Act, the Center will have to implement the rapid rail and road connectivity project from Hyderabad to Amravati.

He also directed the officers to renew the survey and alignment proposals of Hyderabad-Chennai and Hyderabad-Bangalore high-speed railway projects. Revanth Reddy also informed the officials about the need for a regional ring rail around Hyderabad, which will be installed with a 362 km long regional ring road.

Instructions to start these projects

He instructed the officials to start work on this project as soon as possible. The Chief Minister directed to immediately start the works of Vikarabad-Krishna new railway line and complete the DPR of Gadwal-Dornedal railway line.

He also said that railway lines should be developed in Warangal and the possibilities of a new line from Bhupalpalli to Warangal should be detected. He urged railway officials to implement railway projects to develop Hyderabad as well as Warangal as per future needs.
