Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi claimed on Thursday (August 21, 2025) that those coming to power by ‘stealing’ votes do not care about the problems of the people, because they do not need public votes. Rahul Gandhi attended the ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ at Lakhisarai on Thursday after a day’s holiday.
Earlier in the morning, Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav started the yatra from Sheikhpura and this journey reached Lakhisarai in the afternoon. The journey was a holiday on Wednesday (August 20, 2025). Rahul Gandhi on Thursday, opposition candidate for the post of Vice President, B.K. Sudarshan joined Reddy’s nomination, due to which he could not attend the first part of the day.

The Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha shared a video of ‘X’ of meeting some youth in Aurangabad. Rahul Gandhi posted, ‘Dear voters of India, I want to ask all of you a direct question. Can the government that is made up of vote theft, can its intention ever be public service? No. They do not need your vote, so do not even care about your problems.
He claimed, ‘Today’s situation is in front of you. The future of youth is being ruined due to record breaking unemployment. The government is filling the treasures of the capitalists. The Congress leader said, ‘Scams like NEET, SSC Paperlik destroyed millions of students’ careers. The government turned away. Inflation is touching the sky, due to which the life of the common man has become difficult, but the government has increased tax.
Terror and violence from Pahalgam to Manipur
He claimed, ‘Hundreds of innocent people died untimely in the breakdown of infrastructure such as railway accidents and roads, bridges, but the government did not even decide accountability.’ Rahul Gandhi said, “There were incidents of terror and violence from Pahalgam to Manipur, hundreds of people were killed, but the government did not even take responsibility.”
Gandhi said, ‘Millions of people died in demonetisation, corona and peasant movement. The Prime Minister did not even show the assistance, not even shown condolences, because this government is not elected to you, but is made up of votes theft. He told the public, ‘You live, die, keep upset, they do not mind. They are confident that the public should vote or not, they will come to power again by stealing.
‘Choose your government, which is really yours’
Rahul Gandhi emphasized that the clean voter list is the foundation of independent and fair elections. Do not let your franchise go like this, because all your rights are on this foundation. Choose your government, which is really yours, take responsibility for you and be accountable to you. Protect the Constitution of Mother India and the country from your vote.
