The Prime Minister of the country Narendra Modi visited Manipur on Saturday (September 13, 2025) and met the victims of ethnic violence. Two years after the ethnic violence started in the year 2023, when the PM heard the pain of the victims, their eyes were filled. The Prime Minister’s struggle to stop his tears was clearly visible in the pictures.
On Saturday morning, PM Modi reached Imphal and his first stop was Churachandpur, where the cookie community is inhabited and about 61 km from Imphal. However, during that time it was difficult to reach there by helicopter due to heavy rains, so PM Modi decided to reach Churachandpur by road.
PM Modi gets a hat with peacock feathers
In Churachandpur, he met the victims of ethnic violence and heard their pain. PM Modi greeted young children before addressing here and received bouquet and painting from them. During the meeting, a child gifted peacock winged hats to PM Modi.
The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone for projects worth Rs 7,300 crore in Churachandpur and more than Rs 1,200 crore in Imphal. After meeting the people living in relief camps, he said that peace and harmony is necessary for development in Manipur.
More than 7,000 new houses for displaced people
PM Modi said, ‘More than 7,000 new houses are being built for displaced people in Delhi and Kolkata and efforts are on to restore normal conditions in Manipur. The Prime Minister also talked about increasing connectivity in Manipur.
The Prime Minister further said, ‘We have increased the budget for two important projects rail and road. 3700 crore has been spent on national highways in Manipur. Rail connectivity is also being expanded in Manipur and Imphal will soon be connected to the National Rail Network. Also, villages will also be developed rapidly.
