Congress leaders accused

Punjab Congress President Raja Wading said that Rahul Gandhi only wanted to meet people and listen to their problems, but the police stopped them citing security reasons. He questioned, “If Rahul Gandhi is threatened by Pakistan in India and is not safe here too, where will it be safe?”

Former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi also expressed displeasure over the Punjab government and said that Congress workers have been running medical camps there for the last three days, yet Rahul Gandhi was not allowed to meet the flood -affected families.

Congress leader Pratap Singh Bajwa, describing it as shameful and insensitive, alleged that it was not a matter of security but a political decision so that the government could avoid accountability.
