The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday (August 16, 2025) criticized the Congress’s text on the partition of India and said that the opposition party has suffered that the ‘truth’ has come out.
Describing the Congress as ‘Rahul-Jinnah Party’, BJP national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia targeted the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and alleged that his thinking is similar to Pakistan’s founder Mohammad Ali Jinnah.
Accused of ‘distorting’ history
The Congress on Saturday accused the ruling BJP of ‘intervention’ in the functioning of institutions and ‘distorting the history of the country. The allegation has been leveled after a special text released by NCERT on the occasion of ‘Partition Vibhisika Memorial Day’, in which Jinnah, Congress and the then Viceroy Lord Mountbatten have been held responsible for the division of India.
Responding to media questions on this issue, Congress leader Pawan Kheda alleged that Partition was caused by the Hindu Mahasabha and the Muslim League. Kheda also targeted the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and described it as the biggest villain in the history of the country.
A ‘bitter truth’ of the partition of India
Reversing, Bhatia said that the Congress is suffering from the fact that the NCERT has revealed a ‘bitter truth’ of the division of India for the study of students. He told reporters at the BJP headquarters here, ‘Rahul-Jinnah Party first realized this pain and it would not be wrong to say that Jinnah and Rahul’s thinking is the same. Both have become synonymous with each other.
Bhatia alleged, ‘Jinnah had a poisonous thinking of appeasement and communalism. Rahul Gandhi and Congress also have the same thinking. The BJP spokesperson said that it is the right of the people to know why the division took place and whose failure it was.
The partition of ‘Akhand Bharat’ on the basis of religion
He said without naming someone that this happened because the ambition of the Congress and its leader had gone above the national interest. He said, ‘We all know that’ Akhand Bharat ‘was divided on the basis of religion. This black spot is the gift of Congress in our history.
Bhatia said that the people of the country and the BJP believe that the country should run from the constitution, while the Congress believes that the country should run through Sharia law. He said, ‘Jinnah also said that Sharia should be law. The Congress says that people should be given reservation on the basis of religion, Jinnah also said the same.
Betrayal
Regarding the attack on the RSS, Bhatia said, “Those who always betrayed India are questioning a patriotic organization that aims to preserve and strengthen India’s legacy.”
