The Backward Classes Commission is a statutory body. We cannot interfere in this and cannot give it instructions. We have provided it guidelines and asked them to work according to them.

Governor wrote a letter requesting Siddaramaiah to reconsider reconsideration

In response to a question, Siddaramaiah said that Governor Thawarchand Gehlot has sent a letter assigned to him by the delegation of BJP leaders. Governor Thawarchand Gehlot has warned Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to add Christian identity with ethnic names like ‘Kumbara Christian’, ‘Kuruba Christian’ in the upcoming caste survey.

He said that this could lead to ‘social disturbance, long -term complexities and irreparable damage’ to the social structure of the state. In his letter to Siddaramaiah on 16 September, the Governor urged to reconsider the issue.

Caste of caste census center

On the BJP’s charge of dividing the castes on the Congress, Siddaramaiah said, ‘Where are we distributing castes? The government should know your socio-educational and economic status. How can we make policies for you without knowing it? ‘

On the question of Panchamasali Jagadguru Vadanand Swamiji being called a conspiracy, Siddaramaiah expressed surprise whether caste census by the Center can also be considered a conspiracy.
