Women accused of harassment on Kerala Congress MLA, said this after resignation

State President of Youth Congress and Palakkad MLA Rahul Mamkutathil has resigned from his post after the allegations made by women for the last few days. MLA Rahul announced his resignation during a press conference held at his residence on Wednesday (August 20, 2025).

Talking to reporters, the Palakkad MLA said that the allegations made against him is a deliberate attempt to divert attention from the recent allegations against the LDF government. Explaining the reason for the resignation, Rahul said that he is not giving resignation because he has done something wrong, but is resigning keeping in mind the precious time of party workers, who were not responsible for justifying him.

No complaint filed so far

During the press conference, he said that it is his own responsibility to prove his innocence and he will do so. None of the women who have made allegations against him have not taken his name nor has filed any complaint.

Rahul Mamkutathil said, ‘I will personally face these allegations. No concocted complaint has been made against me. He said that he is accountable for the allegations only when a person complains. Therefore, the accusers can file a proper complaint and go to court.

Rahul Mamkutathil said about voice clip

When asked about a social media voice clip making serious allegations against Rahul, he said that making such fake clips is not a difficult task. Asked the journalists, Rahul said that a woman had filed a complaint against MLA Mukesh, Minister A.K. The voice clip of Sasindran was also revealed, then where was this media enthusiasm?

In the press conference, he said that he is not running away from the public. At the same time, when asked about the allegations made by a woman by a woman’s conversation with Rahul, she said that if she has any such allegations, she can bring out the truth with the help of the law.

Woman’s responsibility to prove allegations

Rahul further said that if the woman has made any allegations against her, it was the responsibility of the woman to prove her. He had a good conversation with the woman who complained. He said, ‘The woman has not disclosed the rest of the conversation, I will not do this either.’
